Concept of a circular economy refers to regenerativity of a product. In linear economy, product once used, is disposed. Whereas in circular economy, the product is recycled to its original constituents for reuse. To achieve a circular economy, end product is collected, recycled and brought back into use as a new or the virgin product.

When a multilayered plastic is recycled, its cleaned, processed and shredded into granules. These granules are combination of all kinds of plastic. For this challenge, the applicants need to come up with various product ideas that can be made from these granules that may or may not use the various plastic properties. Ideally the product should have a larger shelf life so that its not thrown as often as the single use plastic.

For this challenge, the applicants would find out various methods to bring back the different plastics used in MLP. They need to come up with new methods/processes (chemical or mechanical) that would recover and identify plastics based on their properties.
